7th Grade Reflections

7th Grade…

7th Grade was tolerable. There was too much homework, not enough free time and no such thing as a bedtime before 11. The great thing about 7th grade is:   (drumroll) …………… ABSOULUTLEY NOTHING! (Other than gaining more friends and having a social life)

I have had some good experiences, I made friends. I also had some laughable moments, when my friends and I cone jousted in Athletics. Once, my friend that I will not mention the name of painted the bathroom door with soap.

7th grade has also been a learning experience, I learned a lot about my friends, a little too much about some. I learned not to jump off the stairs from the top half. I also realized that some friends will become jerks and the friends that were jerks before will become good friends.

Outside of school, I picked up a new hobby: Airsoft, and boy has it been expensive! I love playing airsoft with my friends on the weekends, (we play airsoft almost every weekend) We also have done a lot of gaming in between school!

Overall, 7th grade wasn’t that bad. At first, it did seem bad but when I remembered all that I had done, it became pretty good!

Macavity The Mystery Cat

Macavity’s a Mystery Cat: he’s called the Hidden Paw–
For he’s the master criminal who can defy the Law.
He’s the bafflement of Scotland Yard, the Flying Squad’s despair:
For when they reach the scene of crime–Macavity’s not there!

Macavity, Macavity, there’s no on like Macavity,
He’s broken every human law, he breaks the law of gravity.
His powers of levitation would make a fakir stare,
And when you reach the scene of crime–Macavity’s not there!
You may seek him in the basement, you may look up in the air–
But I tell you once and once again, Macavity’s not there!

Macavity’s a ginger cat, he’s very tall and thin;
You would know him if you saw him, for his eyes are sunken in.
His brow is deeply lined with thought, his head is highly doomed;
His coat is dusty from neglect, his whiskers are uncombed.
He sways his head from side to side, with movements like a snake;
And when you think he’s half asleep, he’s always wide awake.

Macavity, Macavity, there’s no one like Macavity,
For he’s a fiend in feline shape, a monster of depravity.
You may meet him in a by-street, you may see him in the square–
But when a crime’s discovered, then Macavity’s not there!

He’s outwardly respectable. (They say he cheats at cards.)
And his footprints are not found in any file of Scotland Yard’s.
And when the larder’s looted, or the jewel-case is rifled,
Or when the milk is missing, or another Peke’s been stifled,
Or the greenhouse glass is broken, and the trellis past repair–
Ay, there’s the wonder of the thing! Macavity’s not there!

And when the Foreign Office finds a Treaty’s gone astray,
Or the Admiralty lose some plans and drawings by the way,
There may be a scap of paper in the hall or on the stair–
But it’s useless of investigate–Macavity’s not there!
And when the loss has been disclosed, the Secret Service say:
“It must have been Macavity!”–but he’s a mile away.
You’ll be sure to find him resting, or a-licking of his thumbs,
Or engaged in doing complicated long division sums.

Macavity, Macavity, there’s no one like Macacity,
There never was a Cat of such deceitfulness and suavity.
He always has an alibit, or one or two to spare:
And whatever time the deed took place–MACAVITY WASN’T THERE!
And they say that all the Cats whose wicked deeds are widely known
(I might mention Mungojerrie, I might mention Griddlebone)
Are nothing more than agents for the Cat who all the time
Just controls their operations: the Napoleon of Crime!

Week 4: Media and a Memory

A memory:

Thunk… Thunk… I hear as my archers hide behind a wall, preparing to release another rain of arrows upon the enemy Persians… This is Rise and Fall Civilizations at War. The game that really got me into gaming.

When I was young I would have sleepovers for days where I played this game non-stop with my friends… Almost everyday after school, I would play Rise and Fall when I came home. Now, this was in the early years, 2007-11, when I didn’t have much homework and had time to play games on week days. This game though, was amazing.

The graphics were great for that time and I thought it had the best graphics in the world. Though it was a long time ago, it still has pretty good graphics. The game was amazing, stayin’ up at night, playin’ “my childhood”

image

I’d play it with my friends, I’d play it with myself, I’d play it no matter what. It was my childhood, that and sports, my friends all played it, played it with me.

Week 3: Favorite App or Program

What are some of my favorite apps and programs?

1. Skype

Couldn’t live without it, I use this to talk to my friends when we play multiplayer games and other things. This makes it so easy because sometimes games don’t have voice chat and it is very hard to communicate.

2. Steam

Steam is where I get most of my games at, it has almost every PC game imaginable, if you want a specific genre it recommends things. It also makes it very easy to play games with friends.

3.  Google Chrome

By far the best browser, this has everything you could need in a browser. A clean interface, easy to use, good colors, speed, etc. If you want a great browser, this is it.

4. uTorrent

If you want something but don’t have the money for it, this is the best thing to use. You can torrent expensive things for no cost, you can get DLCs for games at no cost and it is easy… That is if it works, not all torrents work though.

5. GeForce Experience

This program made by Nvidia is an easy way to update your graphics crads drivers and optimize games for the best graphics and performance. Overall, one of the most helpful programs on my computer. Though it is costly because to get it, you also have to have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 or above.

Week 2: Favorite Place

Vroom… Vroom… You hear as you walk along 1st st. towards the capital building and see cars go bye. Downtown, the best place in Austin- there is literally everything there, you want a coffee? Right there. Grocery Store? Right there. Movie theater? Right there! You may be walking towards a Imagine Drgaons concert or a Skrillex concert, but if you’re early there are so many distractions you’ll be lucky to get there on time.

Also, there are many great restraunts like the Whole Foods cafe and Stubbs! Stubbs has great live music- my cousin and his band, The Walkmen used to play there when they were still “together”. There is the Paramount theater with great plays and there is the Texas Rowing Center where you can SUP and kayak.

There is just so much to do, the list could go on forever. I love Austin and you probably would to!

Hennessy Venom GT: Fastest Car?

Many people know the Hennessy Venom GT as the fastest car in the world, is that fact or fiction?

Fictional. The Venom has a top speed of 270mph with a V8 720hp engine. There are not any well known cars faster than that… That’s where Koenigsegg comes into play, the Koenigsegg Agera R has a top speed of 273 with a 5.0L V8 engine and 1115hp. Is the Venom still the fastest car?

image

Above ^ is the Koenigsegg Agera R

The Koenigsegg, A little history:

The Koenigsegg’s are handmade in Sweden by  Christian Von Koenigsegg and his team at Koenigsegg Autimotive. Their first car was built in 2002, street legal in only some countries. They then moved on to making the CCX in 2006, their first Super Car. They began manufacturing the Agera R in 2009. They are researching electric cars and biofuel cars at the moment. Koenigsegg was founded in 1994 with the goal of making super cars, they defiantly exceeded that goal.

So, the myth of the Hennessy Venom GT has been busted. The title of Fastest Car does no longer belong to the Venom.

The Phantoms Lair

file3281245094140

The water drips from the ceiling as the Phantom walks out of the shadows…

Drip… Drip… Water hits the cold, black stone,

The walls, a cold hard monotone,

Light glistens of the water on the cobblestone,

A the organ plays a note in baritone,

The phantom, almost monochrome,

Descending the steps of his staircase in slow motion,

Then, playing the organ with devotion,

Causing much emotion,

Noises in the opera house above, making a commotion,

The Phantom fading away into the shadows between the stair and wall,

Towards the surface, a legacy set in motion,

The legacy of emotions,

Chandeliers falling,

Carlotta bawling,

The opera house rotting,

The Phantom’s lair still intact in the commotion of the Night,

Jokes

These are some jokes I have compiled!

How does NASA organize their company parties? They planet.

Why can’t you hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom? Because the “P” is silent.

What kind of shoes do ninjas wear? Sneakers.

How many kids with ADHD does it take to change a light bulb? Let’s go play on our bikes.

What’s the best part about living in Switzerland? Not sure, but the flag is a big plus.

What do you call a big pile of kittens? A meowntain.

How did the hipster burn his tongue? He drank his coffee before it was cool.

I started a band called 999 Megabytes — we haven’t gotten a gig yet.

Thanks guys, hope you enjoyed!

Now, you may ask why I say this car is awesome, but it isn’t just a car. It is the raging bull that is Lamborghini.Lamborghini has been known for making awesome cars that defy the road. Handling, etc… The handling of the Lamborghini Huracan is also a feat to behold, because this car has amazing steering, it is also very manuverable and can navigate the road well.
This one is also more affordable than the others, especially for the features you get.

The car has all wheel drive and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission which means it is a very versatile car, especially for a sports car! The Huracan also has better suspension than the others wich means it doesn’t completley destroy your back.
The Huracán packs a more steady driving experience, but it follows a performance format identical to the Gallardo’s. There’s still a mid-mounted 5.2-liter V-10 driving all four wheels, and evolution comes by way of a bump in power to 601 horses and 413 lb-ft of torque. Rear-drive versions will be offered, as they were on the Gallardo. A new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission takes the place of the Gallardo’s strange single-clutch automatic.Underneath, the Huracán is a lot like the Audi R8. In the Lambo’s case, the structure uses a combination of carbon fiber and aluminum coming near a  weight of about 3100 pounds; moistened with fluids, we’d up that figure by at least 100, but that’s still light compared to the Gallardo, which weighed about 3500 pounds depending on the trim. (Lighter Superlaggera and special-edition models shed as much as 100 pounds.) Lamborghini says the lighter Huracán and its engine stop-start system should have better fuel economy, although given this is a high-performance 10-cylinder supercar, don’t expect miracles. Reduced mass also should bring  performance better than the Gallardo, but we’ll have to wait to verify this with our own testing. For now, the estimation machine says the Lambo is good for a 3.2-second 0-to-62-mph time and a top speed of 202 mph.

Update: Top Ten Best Games

Top Ten Games

10- Call of Duty Black Ops II
9- Halo Combat Evolved
8- Garry’s Mod
7- Assasin’s Creed IV Black Flag
6- Prison Architect
5- The Forest
4- Battlefield 4
3- Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
2- Grand Theft Auto V
1- TESV Skyrim

I think Skyrim should be first because I belive it is the best game I have ever played! You never get bored, it is impossible to have nothing to do and you can do almost anything. This is a MUST PLAY for any gamer!

I think Grand Theft Auto V should be second is because it is just amazing the amount of stuff you can do, you can parachute out of a cargo jet in a motorcycle, fly a jet around, go 250 miles per hour in you hot pink Bugatti, heck, you can even rob a bank! I mean this is the only game I can think of that could rival Skyrim!

I think Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood should be third is because, for one, it was the first Assassin’s Creed game I played, also it is the best so far. You can explore Roma, Florence and Venice while running and jumping across rooftops, buildings and much, much more!

Battlefield 4 should be fourth, what a coincidence! Because it is a beautiful game, you can fly jets and helicopters, destroy a dam or a skyscraper! If someone is camping, bring the building to the ground! You can do a huge amount of stuff!

The Forest is not very well known but it has a lot of potential, you have just survived a plane crash and have to build a shelter. You must chop down trees and then build a hut and a fire to keep warm, then in the morning you go out and find food and water. At night, a canabil tribe will hunt you so make sure to build good protection!

Prison Architect should be here because it is just really fun to play, you build and then manage a high security prison which is ver volatile, your prisoners might riot if you dont take care of them. You have to build everything a real prison would need, from cells to a
